Psychological Support via Telehealth
A virtual practice
Currently, I see clients exclusively via telehealth — a virtual psychology practice. This means you can choose between having your session via secure video chat through my private, secure practice software or we can have our session over the phone.
Why telehealth?
After having my daughter, I was looking for a way to return to work, whilst also meeting mine, my family’s, and my clients’ needs — Telehealth was the perfect solution!
What is it like?
It may feel a little odd at first, but this quickly subsides — it feels totally natural to me now and I love face-to-face therapy. The benefits telehealth provides are just so great! There’s no time spent travelling or worrying about parking; you’re in the comfort of your own space, and you have the ability to work our session into your day with minimal disruption. You can also choose to have an after-hours appointment, where you’ll have your session after getting home from work or putting the kids to bed.
Some of my clients see me from their loungeroom while their bub naps (or doesn’t!), from their office, or from a private room at school or university. My clients with autism and/or ADHD, do whatever they need to best feel comfortable while in session (focusing on talking, not ‘looking’, being in a safe space, adding or removing whatever sensory input is needed).
Is it hard to set up?
Not at all — the set-up (if you could even call it that) is ridiculously easy! A session over the phone involves me calling you at our scheduled time. For video sessions, you’ll receive an email with a video link the day before our scheduled session. At the time of our session, you simply click on that emailed link and I’ll be waiting!
There’s no software to download or logins to create — you click and away we go! You’ll just need a computer/smartphone, reliable internet, and a microphone (headphones would be a bonus for easier listening and privacy).
